NEXOGENESIS will develop and validate 3 solutions:

The NEXOGENESIS self-learning nexus assessment engine (SLNAE), exploiting artificial intelligence and allowing scenario definition with multiple objectives to assess nexus-wide impacts of policy implementation, providing a series of possible actions that maximise nexus performance. It will be able to deal with new situations, acquiring replicable scenario-specific knowledge. Nexus assessment engine recommendations will be validated by stakeholders.

A WEFE Nexus Footprint: A composite indicator, the WEFE Nexus Index, has been established providing a quantitative means to evaluate trade-offs when achieving sustainable development. The WEFE Nexus Index will be updated with stakeholders. A WEFE nexus footprint is crucial as shortcomings have been noted in the monitoring of the sustainability of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

User-validated policy packages developed per Case Study for streamlining water-related policy into the nexus, accounting for climate, socio-economic, behavioural, scale, and transboundary issues, assisting market and trade negotiations and water diplomacy activities. As a consistent and coherent framework is adopted, NEXOGENESIS will support out-scaling of the package development approach to other regions.
