We are excited to share a new scientific publication by NEXOGENESIS partners from IHE Delft and CMCC, contributing new knowledge on sustainable water management in agriculture. The article, titled “Modelling crop water demand under climate change: The case of the Sardinia region”, has been published in Environmental Science & Policy.

The study models future crop water needs in Sardinia under different climate scenarios. Using advanced hydrological and economic modelling tools, the research provides key insights into the impacts of climate change on irrigation demand and water allocation in a Mediterranean context.

These findings are especially valuable for decision-makers aiming to ensure water and food security in climate-sensitive regions. The work strongly aligns with NEXOGENESIS goals of supporting adaptive, cross-sectoral management in the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem (WEFE) Nexus.
